Simabo’s Hostel offers 9 rooms which are simply furnished but have everything you need for a relaxing stay. There are 3 large shared bathrooms and some rooms have a private bathroom and/or balcony. We do not have a boiler for hot showers but after a warm Cape Verdian day the water temperature is just about right!
A fully equipped communal kitchen is at your disposal as well as a large communal living room. We also offer vegan breakfasts and meals which you can order separately.
The hostel is 300m from the beach and main square, 200m from a small supermarket, and about 15mins walking distance from the ferry to Santo Antao.
Final Note: The Cape Verdian government now charges a mandatory 2,50€ (per person and per night) “Tourist tax” which is not included in our prices and must be paid separately.

- Please send us a message or give a ring if you arrive later.
- Cancellation policy: at least 24 hours before arrival.
- Tourist tax (2,50€/person/night) is not included.
- Breakfast is not included but can be requested separately.
- For the comfort of other guests all our rooms are non smoking.
- Payment upon arrival by cash only (sorry for the inconvenience).
- We will provide you with keys so there is no curfew.
- We are a LBGT friendly hostel.
- Consumables (soap, toilet paper, dish-soap, salt/sugar, coffee/tea)
are not provided. - Please take good care of your belongings as we do not have the resources to help you recover items that get stolen or go missing.
- Though we know it can be tempting please refrain from taking animals (or people..) from the street into our hostel.
- Due to a series of unfortunate incidents we ask our guests to leave a 20€ deposit that will be refunded after returning the keys and leaving the room in a reasonable state.
